Waiting a long time for food orders at dinner and breakfast
Friendly staff, comfortable room, slept really well and great breakfast. Thank you
Large bedroom. Very good indeed.
1) The room was dark. Lighting in it was inadequate for reading. Entering the darkish room (5pm) and even though the foyer-area switch was near the bedroom door we had to search for the nearest switch to illuminate the room as a whole. 2) The noise from other guests on the patio (after 11pm) was disturbing so we had to close the window. The room was then far too hot - OK there was a fan but it was noisy. 3) Shower pressure was very poor indeed and shower was never hot enough.
There was a very friendly and warm welcome from the front desk staff on check-in. And the room service staff were equally friendly.
My ground floor room had a huge picture window directly on to the busy High Street pavement. Which meant I was unable to open windows and had to rely on the ac on a very hot summer night. Though obviously there was a heavy privacy net curtain, the huge window was a disconcerting feature of the room. This had not been pointed out on booking, had it been, I would have re-considered my stay. In the bathroom which seemed fairly newly modernised, the loo-roll holder fell off the wall, it had not been installed properly. The basin mixer tap was not properly anchored and therefore difficult to control. There was no handle on the loo-brush therefore unuseable. And the turning device to close the bath plug was not anchored properly and also very difficult to use effectively. All were installation/maintenence issues, and I assume easy to fix, however all problems should have been identified previously by cleaning/housekeeping staff and not a paying guest.
Made to feel very welcome. Helpful in reguard to early request to register two other members of the party earlier than the 2.00pm time.
Sunday morning breakfast staff did not appear to be all that interested in the requirementsof guests:- twice we had to go out to ask for coffee and the plates when finished with, we had to find somewhere to put them offf of the table. However in general I have no complaints of this hotel and would recommend to anyone going to this area.
Make sure you get to breakfast well before 10.00, otherwise there won't be anything left.
Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and tidy. The breakfast was excellent.
The bed was not very comfortable and the plastic mattress covering made it extremely difficult to sleep comfortably - it got very, very, hot and the rustling/crinkling noise was an irritant. It spoiled what was otherwise a very nice stay.
Our room was in the new annex and although designed as a disabled room it was exceptionally good. The standard of decor and quality of furnishing was excellent. In spite of facing the street at pavement level the room was quiet and we had a very good nights sleep. The reception staff both on arrival and check out were very good as were the barstaff. The hotel has a nice atmosphere and has a lively clientel on a Saturday night with live musice in the bar. We would stay here again.
This is not a complaint merely an observation. The breakfast was a let down and the staff were not very proactive. Three tables had wobly legs sending tea spilling onto the tables. Eggs came one way whether poached or fried...well done not a runny egg to be seen. Sausage was good but toast was like door steps and no one informed that toast was in another room and you make your own. Just small things that can easily be put right
the staff were nice people who really did want to look after us,got lots of advice from reception staff regarding travel to thorpe park, london trains, local shops.the bedrooms were clean as were bathrooms. 6-10 pounds taxi to thorpe park.food is pub style and was spot on for our needs. we would stay again
price per night is a little expensive
Crown hotel was way more for what we expected. We got our room 4 hours before the actual check-in time. Hotel has a pub in front, it was lovely surprise to see beautiful court yard and restaurant with conservatory at the back. Staff was really friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed our stay, and if we ever have to go back to Chertsey, would stay there again.
The atmosphere was relaxed, friendly and unimposing and the room very comfortable and clean. We stayed for just one night as we were attending a wedding nearby. Another wedding party was also at the hotel as the reception took place there for that group. The staff coped very well although breakfast the following morning was a bit chaotic. We had to wait several times for dishes to be topped up at the self serve counter but understandable under the circumstances.
Comfortable rooms. Good, traditional bar. Good location. Secure car park. Excellent assistance at reception. Despite being buffet, the quality of food at breakfast was good but see below.
Disinterested service at breakfast. Some of the staff seemed half asleep.
It was easy to find. The staff were really friendly and easy to chat to. Amazing room felt so spoilt. Food was lovely (breakfast). Overall lovely
Breakfast got taken away before 10am.
Staff were quite helpful concerning dietary issues.
The toilet was dirty and unflushed on arrival and there was a stained towel over the bath.
One of the most relaxing hotels that I have stay in the UK. Great breakfast and bar!
The rooms could be a bit more quiet.
